Itinerary Overview
Roar of the Wild: 4-Day Serengeti Escape
Curated by Serengeti Lion Safaris – Where Every Roar Tells a Story
Not everyone has weeks to spare—but in just four days, you can still live a lifetime. This short yet powerful journey drops you straight into the heart of the Serengeti, where lions stretch beneath acacia trees and wildebeest scatter like shadows. You’ll cross Ngorongoro’s misty highlands, chase sunsets across endless plains, and spend your nights under a sky so vast, it humbles you.
With Serengeti Lion Safaris, we’ve packed this escape with everything that matters: personal guide, heart-racing game drives, handpicked lodges, and memories you’ll carry long after the dust has settled.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Touch Down & Take Off – Arusha to Serengeti via Ngorongoro
We meet you at Kilimanjaro Airport or your hotel in Arusha, and right away—we’re rolling. The drive up through the Ngorongoro Highlands is a journey in itself: banana farms, waving children, and mist rolling over crater rims. After a quick stop at the viewpoint, we descend toward the Serengeti. The moment you enter, you’ll feel it—the land breathes differently here.
Your Serengeti Lion Safaris guide wastes no time. You’re already on a game drive as you head to your lodge. Giraffes at sunset, lions in the grass—this is why you came.
Overnight Options (Serengeti):
- Camping: Seronera Public Campsite
- Budget: Africa Safari Ikoma
- Standard: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp
- Luxury: Lahia Tented Lodge / Melia Serengeti
Day 2: Full Day in the Serengeti – Where the Wild Things Are
Wake up early and step outside—the sun is just brushing the plains, and the air is cool with promise. Today is yours to explore. Chase big cats across open grasslands, follow elephant trails to riverbeds, and listen for the sudden hush that means something is near.
Your guide knows the best watering holes, the quiet tracks where leopards nap, and just how close you can get without crossing the line. Lunch is packed picnic-style, enjoyed under a lone acacia tree with nothing but wildebeest for company. If this isn’t living, what is?
Overnight:
- Camping: Seronera Public Campsite
- Budget: Africa Safari Ikoma
- Standard: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp
- Luxury: Lahia Tented Lodge / Melia Serengeti
Day 3: Farewell Serengeti – Hello Crater Rim & Karatu
One last morning game drive gives you a final taste of the wild—perhaps lions on the move or hyenas at a distant carcass. By late morning, you exit the Serengeti and begin your journey back via Ngorongoro.
We won’t descend into the crater today, but we’ll pause at the rim for a breathtaking view. Then it’s down to Karatu, a sleepy town nestled among coffee farms. A warm bed and a proper shower await.
Overnight Options (Karatu):
- Budget: Karatu Safari Camp Lodge
- Standard: Africa Safari Karatu
- Luxury: The Retreat at Ngorongoro
Day 4: Return to Arusha – The Long Goodbye
After breakfast, we take the scenic route back to Arusha. You can stop at a local craft market, pick up a hand-carved lion or some Tanzanian coffee, or just stare out the window, replaying every roar and rumble of the last few days.
Your driver drops you off at the airport or your hotel. It’s not goodbye—not really. Because once you’ve felt the Serengeti, part of you stays behind.
